Facilities Management

Facilities Management works with Elected Officials, the County Administrator, Budget and Finance Director, County Department Heads, and the public to provide a clean, safe, and comfortable service-oriented environment at all County locations. Focus is given to maximizing building equipment and component life through proper preservation and preventative maintenance to minimize overall expense. Some of the department’s skillsets and objectives include:

  • Building Maintenance and Custodial Services
  • Contracting services for skillsets beyond internal capabilities
  • Leasing and property management
  • Implementing sustainable practices that reduce cost and environmental impact
  • Improving efficiencies and incorporating industry technologies to gain efficiencies
  • Pursuing grant funding
  • Evaluating utilities usage and energy code compliance
  • Assessing return on investment of capital improvement projects
  • Working with the Skagit County Planning and Development Department to update the Capital Facilities Plan

Our goal is to provide and maintain facilities optimized to meet County needs congruent with the Capital Facilities Plan while fostering community facility partnerships and pursuing grant funding for significant capital projects.
