Family Fly Fishing Day at Skagit County Historical Museum May 8
La Conner All ages are welcome to Family Day: Fly Fishing in the Skagit for a full day of fish fun at the Skagit County Historical Museum on Saturday, May 8 from 11 am to 4 pm. Visitors learn how to cast a line, tie a fly, make fish paintings and other fishy crafts with Bruce Freet and other members of the Fidalgo Fly Fishers along with Lucy DeGrace of the Skagit Enhancement Group. Also included are opportunities to construct a fly pole, make a colorful salmon print, bead a fish life-cycle bracelet, study some live fry in an aquarium and watch a video of professional fly fishers. At 2 pm, Bruce Freet presents on insects and tied flies and at 2:30 Pat OHearn tells all about fly fishing equipment.
