Skagit County Planning Commission to hold special meetings

SKAGIT COUNTY -The Skagit County Planning Commission will hold a series of special meetings, in addition to their regularly scheduled meetings, to study and discuss the working draft of the Shoreline Master Program Update. The advisory committee is working to complete its review of the draft document. It will be available for review on the website when it is made available to the Planning Commission. Under the requirements of the grant contract, a working draft of the updated SMP is due to the Washington State Department of Ecology by July 31, 2012. The formal public review, comment and local approval process is scheduled to begin in early Fall 2012. Public open houses will be held in October.

The first Planning Commission special meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2012. This will be a joint meeting of the Shoreline Advisory Committee and the Planning Commission. All of these special meetings will begin at 6:00 PM in the Skagit County Commissioners' Hearing Room, 1800 Continental Place, Mount Vernon, Washington.
