"Here's to the Women!" with Linda Allen at Skagit County Historical Museum

La Conner - "Here's to the Women!" a multi-media presentation celebrating one hundred years of women's suffrage in Washington will be presented Sunday, June 27, at 2 pm at Skagit County Historical Museum. Dr. Linda Allen, songwriter and educator, will use songs, stories and images to commemorate the silencing and the raising up of women's voices in Washington State. "Here's to the Women!" is being presented in over 25 cities around the state during this centennial year. Admission is free.

The presentation highlights weavers and quilters, suffragists and farmers, labor leaders and politicians, "Rosie the Riveters" and domestic workers - women who have made a difference in Washington State's history.

"Here's to the Women" is an Inquiring Mind presentation sponsored by Humanities Washington. Dr. Allen's recently released CD of the same name highlighting women's journey to justice will be available for purchase.
