Skagit County Parks and
Recreation releases public survey to gather input for six-year Comprehensive
Plan
SKAGIT COUNTY - The Skagit
County Parks and Recreation (SCPR) Department is administering a public survey
to gather information about the public's recreational interests and shape its
six-year Comprehensive Plan. The public is encouraged to fill out the survey
and help SCPR create a plan that will prioritize the way parks and recreation
is provided throughout the county over the next six years. The
survey is available here.
The focus of the Comprehensive Plan Update is to plan and provide for needed park facilities for Skagit County's growing population. The new plan will be the guiding document for County-affiliated programs and parks, including open space and paths. The plan is intended to lay the groundwork for the future of the
County park systems. It
explores potential park development and improvements, prioritizes strategies
to meet and achieve a level of service that fits the needs of county residents,
and describes existing and potential funding sources needed to meet the desired
level of service and maintain both park facilities and recreation service.
The survey is also available
at www.skagitcounty.net/parks.
