Paving work to close I-5 lanes near Skagit / Whatcom County line

SKAGIT COUNTY – Drivers will need to plan for lane closures on I-5 near the Skagit/Whatcom county line for three days next week as WSDOT crews repair the bumpy approaches to the Friday Creek bridges.

Crews will close the right lane of north- and southbound I-5 to grind and pave from 8 p.m. Monday, June 15, to 6 a.m. Tuesday, June 16. Crews will close the left lane in both directions to grind and pave from 8 p.m June 16 to 6 a.m. June 17. Crews will wrap up work with intermittent lane closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Wednesday, June 17.

Drivers will notice a smoother ride once crews complete their work. Drivers should watch for crews working near the lanes of travel and prepare for minor delays.
