I-5 on- and off-ramps closed at night in Burlington next week

BURLINGTON – Drivers who regularly use the I-5/SR 20 interchange (exit 230) in Burlington will want to plan a little extra time into their schedules Monday and Tuesday nights next week.

Crews will close the southbound I-5 on- and off-ramps from 10 p.m. Monday, July 6, to 5 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, and close the northbound on- and off-ramps from 10 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, to 5 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, to finish striping the ramps and installing curbs.

Drivers will be detoured to the either the Chuckanut Drive interchange (exit 231) or the George Hopper interchange (exit 229) during the ramp closures.

This work is part of a larger $118 million project that widening five miles of SR 20 to four lanes and rebuilt the I-5 interchange to improve safety and relieve congestion. More information can be found on the project Web page: www.wsdot.wa.gov/projects/sr20/sr536fredonia.
