Save the Samish Community Meeting
SKAGIT COUNTY - On July 14, Skagit County will host a community meeting to discuss the Samish watershed, the problems plaguing its health, and practical ways to help save it. The community is encouraged to attend, listen, and discuss concerns regarding our local waters.
Representatives from Skagit County Public Works, Planning, and Health, along with Washington State Ecology and the Conservation District, will provide presentations and answers regarding the current health of the Samish watershed, the Pollution Identification and Correction program, the progress of the Clean Samish Initiative, and the recent EPA grant. They will also discuss how residents affect the Samish watershed as well as local pollution-reduction programs and tools that are available for homeowners.
The community meeting will take place July 14, in the Edison Elementary Cafeteria. The open house will begin at 6:00 pm and the meeting will start shortly thereafter at 6:30 pm. Local food and beverages will also be served.
Take ownership to protect our watershed, because Clean Water is everyone's business.
