Welcome to Skagit County
July 9th, 2012
Reminder: Seasonal Agricultural & Political Signs not allowed in County
Road right of way
SKAGIT COUNTY -
It is once again the time of year in Skagit County for selling fresh fruits
and vegetables at temporary stands and for posting of political signs by candidates
in anticipation of the primaries and fall elections. Both are worthwhile and
valid reasons for promotional signage. However, both State Law and Skagit County
Code do not allow the placement of such signing within County or State right
of way - even on a temporary basis. These types of signs are allowed on private
property with certain restrictions and with property owner permission.
If you, or someone you know, have placed either of these types of signage adjacent to a county road or state highway, please make immediate arrangements to move them off the right of way and onto private property (with proper permission, of course).
