Scott Named County Clerk of the Year

SKAGIT COUNTY - Skagit County Clerk Nancy Scott was recently named “County Clerk of the Year” by members of the Washington State Association of County Clerks (WSACC) at their 103rd Annual Conference in Mason County last month.

Jefferson County Clerk and recipient of the 2008 Clerk of the Year Award Ruth Gordon, in her presentation of the award, cited Scott as a leader who “has the ability to see the value in change and push through adversity as a leader… to contribute selflessly as an open-minded, creative member of a successful team. As Communications Chair and now as Education Chair, she has been integral to the solid core of a professional organization. Nancy’s great legacy to the members of WSACC and to the courts will be the results of the many topnotch training programs she has planned, coordinated and produced these last two years.”

Others called the training Scott has been responsible for as “phenomenal” and say “all our offices have benefited because of the hard work and dedication she has given.”

Nancy Scott has served as Skagit County Clerk since 2003 and was recently elected to a two year term on the Board of Trustees for the Washington Association of County Officials. The “Clerk of the Year” award is given by a vote of the WSACC members for outstanding service to the association. It was first awarded in 1984.
