Wildfire Smoke Health Alert
Wildfires in Canada and the North Cascades are bringing smoke down
into the Skagit Valley, most heavily from Newhalem to Sedro Woolley. People
with heart or lung disease are particularly sensitive to the impacts of particulates
from smoke. If you live in an area that is having smoke impact you may want
to take precautions to protect your health. Sensitive people should monitor
their health and maintain at least a five day supply of medications. Exposure
to smoke may be reduced by limiting exertion, staying indoors and limiting circulation
of outside air into the house, or spending time away from the smoke impacted
areas.
