Samish River
Family Festival to celebrate the Samish River, October 8, 2011
SKAGIT COUNTY – On
Saturday, October 8, 2011 Skagit Fisheries Enhancement Group (SFEG), in coordination
with Skagit County’s Clean Samish Initiative, will host the Samish River
Family Festival at Donovan County Park in Alger. The Festival will run from
11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
The public is invited to attend and join in this family event that will celebrate
the Samish River and serve as a kick-off for the Friday Creek Habitat Stewards
group. SFEG and partners will provide educational activities for all ages related
to water quality, wildlife habitat, salmon, shellfish, and the river ecosystem.
Food will be available for purchase; picnics are also encouraged. This event
is provided by the combined efforts of SFEG, the Clean Samish Initiative, the
Skagit Conservation District, and the Skagit Conservation Education Alliance.
