Ament to speak on Skagit Beginnings of NW School of Art

La Conner – Deloris Tarzan Ament, author of “Iridescent Light: The Emergence of Northwest Art” and former art critic for The Seattle Times, will share her perspective of the local beginnings of the now famous Northwest School of Art on Thursday, October 22 at 7 pm at Skagit County Historical Museum. Artists of the Northwest School who were especially influenced by the natural setting of Skagit Valley included Guy Anderson, Kenneth Callahan, William Cumming, Richard Gilkey, Morris Graves, Clayton James and Phillip McCracken.

This Skagit Topics event is presented in conjunction with the featured exhibit “Paint Me a River! Art Meets History” and is included with museum admission: adults-$4; seniors-$3; members-free.
