Community Meeting to discuss rural residential water use study scheduled
October 21, 7:00pm-8:00pm
SKAGIT COUNTY - Skagit County, the Washington State Department of Ecology,
and the City of Anacortes are working together to conduct a study of rural residential water use in the Skagit River Basin to
provide a better understanding of how water withdrawals from wells impact flows in the Skagit River Basin. In the coming weeks,
water use surveys will be mailed to residents in the Carpenter, Fisher, and Nookachamps basins.
The community meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 21, from 7:00pm to 8:00pm in the Skagit County Commissioners Hearing
Room, located at 1800 Continental Place in Mount Vernon. Details of the study will be discussed and staff from all three
agencies will be available to answer questions from the public.
