Christensen to serve
on County and Regional Planning Director's Statewide Executive Committee
SKAGIT COUNTY - Gary Christensen, member of the American Institute of Certified
Planners and Director of Skagit County Planning and Development Services, was
recently elected to serve a two-year term as Vice President of the Washington
State Association of County and Regional Planning Directors (WSACRPD).
WSACRPD is closely affiliated with the Washington State Association of Counties
(WSAC). WSAC serves all of Washington's 39 counties, providing services including
advocacy, training and workshops, and a forum to network and share best practices
to allow counties to improve their capacity to better serve their citizens.
"Planning makes sense, and it is a great opportunity to be involved at
the state and regional level when discussing and formulating growth management,
land use, economic development, housing, environmental, and sustainability policies.
It is my intention to be a voice for Skagit County and the planning profession
in addressing these important issues today and for future generations,"
said Christensen.
Christensen has over 28 years of experience practicing land use planning, including
22 years working for Skagit County and with its citizens.
