Businesses encouraged to report economic damage caused by recent snowstorm
SKAGIT COUNTY - The Skagit
County Department of Emergency Management requests that businesses with economic
injury attributed to the recent snowstorm report it to the Emergency Management
office. The information will be submitted to the Washington State Department
of Emergency Management to determine if businesses are eligible for Small Business
Administration Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDLs).
EIDLs provide low-interest loans to eligible small businesses that have suffered
substantial economic injury, regardless of physical damage. The loans also provide
operating expenses until a business recovers. To be eligible for an EIDL program,
at least five small businesses in need of financial assistance not otherwise
available on reasonable terms due to the disaster must complete the EIDL Form.
To report economic damage, fill out an Economic Injury worksheet form, available
at www.skagitcounty.net/dem
and return it to the Department of Emergency Management's office. For more information,
contact the Skagit County Department of Emergency Management at (360) 428-3250
or at dem@co.skagit.wa.us.
