Skagit County lifts outdoor burn ban for all unincorporated areas beginning on October 3, 2025.
In unincorporated Skagit County, burn permits are required for piles larger than four feet by four feet. These permits can be obtained online through the new Burn Permit Request and Permit System.

Skagit County to Request Transition of Senior Nutrition Program to Alternate Provider
Commissioners directed Public Health to provide notice to the Northwest Regional Council (NWRC) that a new provider will be needed for the senior nutrition program starting July 1, 2026.

North Star to Host Joint City Councils, City Mayors, and Commissioners Meeting

County Commissioners requested Public Health staff to present options for reducing the budget, including evaluation of either reducing hot congregate meals and hot meal deliveries or transitioning the senior nutrition program contract to a nonprofit.

Dodge Valley Road #41000 Will Be Closed at Milepost 2.77 (Valley Road) from August 25, Through September 4, 2025.
Skagit County crews will be replacing a large, failed farm and irrigation culvert across Dodge Valley Road adjacent the the intersection of Valley Road approximately 1/2 mile south of Chilberg Road. The entire intersection will be closed and unpassable.

Marblemount Bridge to Close for Two Weeks
The Marblemount bridge on Cascade River Road will be closed to all traffic, including emergency vehicles and pedestrians, from September 2, 2025, through September 16, 2025, due to ongoing construction efforts to rehabilitate the aging bridge infrastructure.
