SKAGIT COUNTY COMMISSIONERS APPOINT NEW AGRICULTURAL ADVISORY BOARD

SKAGIT COUNTY - The Skagit County Board of Commissioners announced the members of the new Agricultural Advisory Board on December 16, 2002 at their regular meeting. The Commissioners appointed members to one, two, and three year terms to assure that no more than 33% of the membership will expire in any years. The members are:

Murray Benjamin (1 year)
Dave Boon (1 year)
Bob Finbonner (1 year)
Oscar Lagerlund (1 year)
Bob Hughes (2 years)
Mike Hulbert (2 years)
Larry Jensen (2 years)
Roger Knutzen (2 years)
Randy Good (3 years)
Rose Merritt ( 3 years)
Beth C. Vander Veen (3 years)
Lyle Wesen (3 years)

The first task of the Agricultural Advisory Board will be to prepare a strategic plan establishing a policy framework, consistent with Skagit County's Comprehensive Plan, on how Skagit County government can support and strengthen the agricultural sector. The Board will issue an annual report to the Board of Commissioners.
