JOINT SKAGIT COUNTY SKAGIT PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT #1 MEETING POSTPONED

SKAGIT COUNTY - Skagit County has requested that a previously scheduled joint meeting of the Skagit PUD #1 Board of Commissioners and the Skagit County Board of Commissioners be postponed. The meeting was previously scheduled for January 22, 2008.

“Skagit County would like to wait until the County Prosecutor’s office receives an opinion they requested from the Washington State Attorney General Attorney General in regard to the county’s order for fluoridation,” said Skagit County Administrator Gary Rowe.

According to Will Honea, Skagit County’s chief civil deputy prosecutor, the legal questions posed to the state Attorney General could, depending on how they are answered, have an impact on how the county proceeds with implementation of the fluoridation order.

No date has been set for a meeting in the future.
