TRAINING FOR
MASTER COMPOSTER/RECYCLER VOLUNTEERS OFFERED STARTING MARCH 5
Skagit County Public Works Department will be conducting the 2003
Training of Master Composter/Recycler volunteers and is looking for
citizens who are interested in applying to become part of the program.
The training will take place on seven consecutive Wednesday evenings
starting on March 5 and concluding on April 16, 6:00 -8:30 PM. There
will also be field days on two Saturdays. The training and all the
materials are offered without charge and the volunteers will promise
to return 40 hours of educational service back to the community. The
topics covered in the training include a variety of waste reduction
techniques including composting, recycling, less toxic alternatives
to household and garden chemicals, and smart shopping. Public presentation
techniques will also be included in the curriculum.
The training will take place in the Mount Vernon/Burlington area.
Participants are sought from all parts of Skagit County. Applications
