SKAGIT COUNTY AUDITOR NORMA BRUMMETT SCORES 100 PERCENT ON EXAM FOR CERTIFICATION AS ELECTION ADMINISTRATOR

SKAGIT COUNTY – Skagit County Auditor Norma Brummett was recently notified that she scored a perfect 100 percent on her examination for certification as an Election Administrator for the State of Washington. “This is a tough test, and very few people receive a perfect score,” said Skagit County Election Supervisor Erika Widermuth-Kubischta.

Elected officials are exempt from having to take the test, but Brummett felt it was important to achieve certification. “All four of our staff has passed this staff with scores of 98 percent or higher. I feel it’s important as an elected official to meet the same standard,” said Brummett.

Not less than two persons of the auditor’s office who conduct primaries and elections must be certified as elections administrators under state law, according to Brummett. “It is extremely rare to find a county that has the entire department certified as elections administrators,” she said.
