SKAGIT COUNTY SHERIFFS OFFICE HONORED AS TRAFFIC SAFETY SUPER STARS
SKAGIT COUNTY The Washington Traffic Safety Commission honored the Skagit County Sheriffs Department Traffic Safety Unit today with a Traffic Safety Super Star Award. The honor was part of the Ticketing Aggressive Cars and Trucks (TACT) project for outstand contributions to traffic safety. The ceremony was held at St. Martins College in Lacey, Washington.
Individuals honored from Skagit County included Sheriff Rick Grimstead, Sergeant Dave Corrion, and Deputies Jeff Willard, Chris Baldwin and Marty Plancich.
TACT is a pilot project designed to reduce serious collisions between smaller passenger vehicles and large commercial trucks. The project combined education and public service announcements with enforcement to raise awareness of this deadly problem.
