POTATO WORKSHOP FEBRUARY 27

WSU/Skagit County Extension is sponsoring a free full-day workshop for commercial and seed potato growers and industry personnel on Friday, February 27. The workshop begins at 7:30 am and ends at 3:30 pm at the Best Western CottonTree Inn in Mount Vernon.

Management of potato diseases will be a highlight of this year’s workshop. Keynote speaker Dave Lambert, University of Maine Plant Pathologist, will address new and threatening diseases. Other experts from around the state of Washington will talk about control of potato diseases commonly found in Skagit County. Marketing, economics, insect management, new buffer requirements and pesticide laws, and use of mustard plantings for disease control are topics to be included.

No registration is required for the workshop.
