February 10, 2021: COVID-19 Vaccine Updates from Skagit County
No First-Dose Appointments for the week of 2/8
There are no new first-dose vaccine appointments available at the Skagit County Fairgrounds for the week of February 8th due to lack of supply. Second-dose appointments will not be impacted. An update for the week of 2/15 will be provided on our website on Saturday, February 13th at 9:00 a.m.

How to Make A Vaccine Appointment at the Fairgrounds
Vaccine is available by appointment only at the Skagit County Fairgrounds when supply is available. First-dose vaccine appointments can be scheduled online at https://prepmod.doh.wa.gov/ by searching “SCHD- COVID Vaccine Site.”
Public Health asks that you please schedule appointments online. A detailed online scheduling guide is available in English and in Spanish. If after reviewing the guide you still need assistance, call the Vaccine Hotline at 360-416-1500.
Second Doses at the Fairgrounds
At this time, Skagit County Public Health cannot provide second doses to those who received their first dose elsewhere. People should return to their original clinic for their second dose.
Second doses will be administered using a drive-through at the Skagit County Fairgrounds. Those who receive their first dose through Public Health will be guaranteed their second dose.
Please, Don’t Crowd Your Vehicle
When coming to the Skagit County Fairgrounds Vaccine Clinic, you can save time by not crowding your vehicle. Public Health asks that only those with an appointment come to the site, unless assistance is required. A maximum of two people per vehicle is appreciated and it is encouraged that, for safety purposes, people ride only with those within their household. And lastly, please wear a mask.
Roadmap to Recovery
On January 5, Governor Inslee announced the Healthy Washington- Roadmap to Recovery plan, which lays out the process to safely reopen Washington state. This is a phased reopening plan that groups Counties together into regions. Skagit County is part of the North Region, along with Whatcom, San Juan and Island Counties.
The North Region is currently in Phase 1. To move forward to Phase 2 three of the following four metrics must be met:
• Decreasing trend in 14-day rate of new COVID-19 cases per 100K population;
• Decreasing trend in 14-day rate of new COVID-19 hospital admissions per 100K population;
• Average 7-day percent occupancy of ICU staffed beds less than 90%; and,
• 7-day percent positivity of COVID-19 tests less than 10%
Once in Phase 2, a region must continue meeting at least three of these four metrics: • Decreasing or flat trend in 14-day rate of new COVID-19 cases per 100K population;
• Decreasing or flat trend in 14-day rate of new COVID-19 hospital admissions per 100K population;
• Average 7-day percent occupancy of ICU staffed beds less than 90%; and,
• 7-day percent positivity of COVID-19 tests less than 10%
Data is evaluated every other Friday, with regions moving forward or backward depending on their metrics the following Monday. The next data evaluation is this Friday, February 12. You can find the dashboard here. If the North Region meets three of the four metrics above, we would move forward to Phase 2 on Monday, February 15.
