PUBLIC MEETING SCHEDULED FOR LAKE MANAGEMENT DISTRICT AT BIG LAKE

SKAGIT COUNTY – Property owners within Lake Management District #1 and members of the Big Lake Community are invited to attend a public meeting regarding 1) the Integrated Aquatic Vegetation Management Plan Update, and 2) a presentation on Big Lake Drainage Study/Capital Facilities Improvement plans. The meeting is scheduled for Monday, February 23, 2004, at 6:00 p.m. at the Big Lake Elementary School.

The Aquatic Vegetation Management Plan Update is required in order for continued lake treatments funded by Big Lake Management District #1 to manage nuisance and invasive aquatic weeds. The drainage improvement plan is in response to the large number of drainage complaints received over the last decade in the Big Lake area. Skagit County Public Works is the process of acquiring a consultant to conduct a drainage and capital facilities improvement study. The purpose of this study is to identify infrastructure improvement projects adjacent to Big Lake to effectively address regional drainage problems.
