CASE LOAD CONTINUES TO GROW FOR COUNTY PROSECUTORS OFFICE
SKAGIT COUNTY Adult felony referrals in 2003 rose by 11.5 percent in 2003 with District Court referrals increasing by 16.6 percent, according to Skagit County Prosecuting Attorney Thomas Seguine. Adult referrals totaled 1,418 with the sum of juvenile referrals reaching 1,322.
This is a continuing
trend, with increases coming from all jurisdictions in Skagit County,
said Seguine. We had an increase by 147 adult felony referrals and a juvenile
increase of 96 cases in 2003.
These numbers reflect the incoming cases to the prosecutors office
from all sources. The growth rates recognized earlier in the year continue,
said Seguine.
