Public Health to Change Vaccination Clinic Operating Schedule
Beginning the week of March 7, Skagit County Public Health will be changing its COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic’s operating schedule to Wednesday, Thursdays, and Fridays from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The Vaccination Clinic is located at the Public Health office at 700 S 2nd Street (3rd floor) in downtown Mount Vernon. All COVID-19 vaccine doses are available at this clinic, including prime, pediatric, and booster doses. Appointments are recommended for this location, though walk-ins are welcome.
COVID-19 vaccines are currently recommended for everyone 5 years and older; boosters are recommended for those 12 years and older. For vaccine information, please refer to the CDC’s COVID-19 Vaccination webpage or call Public Health at (360) 416-1500 to discuss your options.
Getting vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19 remains the best way to protect oneself from severe illness, hospitalization, and death. Statewide data shows:
- Unvaccinated 12-34 year-olds are 6 times more likely to be hospitalized with COVID-19 compared with their fully vaccinated counterparts
- Unvaccinated 35-64 year-olds are 7 times more likely to be hospitalized with COVID-19; and
- Unvaccinated 65+ year-olds are 9 times more likely to be hospitalized with COVID-19, and 7 times more likely to die of COVID-19 compared with fully vaccinated 65+ year-olds.
Individuals who need assistance scheduling an appointment or getting out to a vaccine clinic can call Public Health at (360) 416-1500. Other vaccination locations are also available in Skagit County, including most chain and neighborhood pharmacies. For a full list of providers, go to the Vaccine Locator.
