World War II Exhibit Opens at Historical Museum

La Conner -A new exhibition, Over Here, Over There: Memories of World War II in Skagit County, opens March 16, 2002. Created by the Museum, this major exhibit tells the story of Skagit County’s response to World War II through artifacts, photographs, documents and memories contributed by Skagitonians - both those on the Skagit home front and those in service to our country at the time.

At 2 pm, in a Skagit Topics presentation, “The War Years in Washington State,” author and WWII veteran James R. Warren will tell how our state contributed more to winning the war than any other state in the union. Dr. Warren is former director of the Museum of History and Industry in Seattle and past president of Edmonds Community College.

The presentation is included with Museum admission: Adults: $4; Seniors & Children 6-12: $3; Families: $8; Children under 6 and Museum Members: Free. The Skagit County Historical Museum is located at 501 S. 4th Street at the top of the hill in La Conner and is open Tuesday through Sunday 11 to 5. For more information, please call 360.466.3365
