March 5, 2003 Skagit MRC Reports to Anacortes Skagit County's Marine Resources Committee will hold its regular monthly meeting at the Anacortes Library, "M" Ave. and 10th St., 9 am to 11 am, Thursday morning March 13. Citizens wishing to understand the group's program or to make recommendations are welcome to attend. Sandy Wyllie-Echeverria, Ph.D. has also been invited to describe his recent work in Fidalgo Bay. Skagit MRC has an ambitions program planned for 2003, including: Diver Surveys to set priorities for Bottomfish Marine Protected areas; A second planting of Olympia oysters in Fidalgo Bay, as well as seeding three selected Skagit County beaches with Pacific oysters; several opportunities for citizens to take part in spartina removal; Investigation of Fidalgo Bay outfalls; a restoration blueprint for northern bays of Skagit County as well as approval of several restoration projects to be carried out in early 2004.
