FREE WORKSHOP FOR SHORELINE LANDOWNERS OFFERED

SKAGIT COUNTY – A free workshop for Shoreline land owners is scheduled for Saturday, April 1, 2006 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and optional field trip from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Hope Island Fire Hall at 16846 Chilberg Avenue, La Conner. The event is co-sponsored by Skagit County, Puget Sound Action Team, WSU Beach Watchers, Skagit Conservation Education Alliance, Skagit Marine Resources Committee and People for Puget Sound.

Coastal geologists, wildlife biologists, public health experts and Skagit County shoreline staff will be on hand to participate in discussions on the ecology of marine shorelines, septic maintenance and repair, conservation stewardship, derelict gear and creosote logs and shoreline rules and regulations.

Pre-Registration is required by March 29, 2006. Coffee, tea, danish, lunch and a resource packet will be provided. To register, contact Hilary Culverwell, Puget Sound Action Team at 360-676-2233.
