COUNTY OFFERS FREE CLINIC ON HOW YOUR SEPTIC SYSTEM WORKS

SKAGIT COUNTY – The Skagit County Public Health Department is offering septics clinics for interested property owners. In addition, Skagit County is offering $100 rebates for septic system inspections as well as a $100 rebate for installation of risers and lids, funded by a grant for the Washington State Department of Ecology.
The purpose of the FREE Septics clinic is to inform homeowners about how septic systems work, how to monitor their function, and how to maintain them in order to prevent problems. In addition each clinic provides information about composting and hazardous waste disposal options.

Septics 101 for Realtors:

This is a four hour class offering for personnel in the real estate business interested in the septic systems and the inspection now required at time of property transfer in Skagit County. The class will detail how septic systems work, how homeowners need to take care for them and what is involved in the actual inspection procedure. The class is free unless the clock hours are needed. Clock hours offered through North Puget Sound Association of Realtors and Clover Park Technical College.

Pre-registration is recommended for Septics 101. You can also request a copy of your septic system "As-Built", a map drawn by the septic system designer at the time of the system's completion after installation. It will be provided if available.
