PUBLIC WORKSHOP NOTICE
WHAT: SKAGIT RIVER COMPREHENSIVE FLOOD HAZARD MANAGEMENT PLAN (CFHMP) UPDATE
WHEN: MONDAY, MARCH 31, 2008 4:00 pm - 7:15 pm
WHERE: SKAGIT ROOM (BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONER’S HEARING ROOM) OF THE COUNTY BUILDING AT 1800 CONTINENTAL PLACE, MOUNT VERNON, WA 98273
PURPOSE: BRING TOGETHER SKAGIT COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL ZONE DISTRICT TECHNICAL COMMITTEE MEMBERS TO:
Hear presentations about
flood hazard planning from an Ecology representative who will speak to specifics
of the CFHMP, a representative from the US Army Corps who will speak to specifics
of the Skagit River General Investigation, and an Emergency Management Representative
who will speak to specifics of the Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan;
Improve the understanding
of the path forward in these planning processes and especially how the CFHMP
and Skagit GI efforts will complement each other;
Discuss Technical Committee
organizational and operational issues; and
Plan for the upcoming third
Technical Committee workshop and future educational topics.
