PUBLIC INVITED TO MARINE RESOURCES COMMITTEE MEETING

ANACORTES – The public is invited to attend the Skagit County Marine Resources Committee meeting scheduled for Thursday, April 8, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Mount Vernon Senior Center, 1401 Cleveland Avenue, Mount Vernon.

Topics of discussion will include project updates on Olympia Oyster Research in Fidalgo Bay, Pacific Oyster Enhancement, and Skagit Bays Restoration Blueprint. 2004 Project updates will include Lone Tree Pocket Estuary Baseline Sampling, Creosote Log/Piling Inventory and Debris Removal, Fidalgo Bay Forage Fish Shade, Samish Island Shorelines Restoration Project and Spartina Inventory and Removal.

There will also be a briefing on the status of the Department of Natural Resources Aquatic Reserves in Skagit Marine Waters and the 2003 Samish Bay Commercial Shellfish Closure.
