EMERGENCY LANE CLOSURE
NORTHBOUND I-5 THURSDAY NIGHT
MOUNT VERNON The Washington State Department of Transportation will close one of two lanes on northbound Interstate 5 in Mount Vernon on Thursday night, April 1 for emergency repair work. Crews will remove a raised bump from the right, slow lane of I-5 between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. to smooth the road surface.
The raised bump appeared on the shoulder and in half of the right, slow lane of I-5 just north of the 2nd Street Bridge when crews working for the City of Mount Vernon were relocating utilities underneath Interstate 5. Utility relocation is needed for the I-5, 2nd Street Bridge Replacement Project that will start in June.
