COVID-19 Updates from Skagit County
Phase 1b-Tiers 3 & 4 now eligible
Beginning today (Wednesday, March 31st), all Washingtonians eligible under Phase 1b-Tiers 3 and 4 will be able to access a COVID-19 vaccine. These new tiers include the following:
- People 16 years or older with 2 or more co-morbidities or underlying conditions
- All people 60 years and older
- People, staff, and volunteers in certain congregate living settings: correctional facilities; groups homes for people with disabilities; settings where people experiencing homelessness live or access services
- High-risk critical workers in certain congregate settings: restaurants, food services, construction, and manufacturing

Phase Finder no longer required
To ensure vaccinations can happen as quickly as possible, Phase Finder will no longer be required at any vaccine site beginning March 31st. Eligibility still applies, but a Phase Finder screen shot or print out is no longer required.

Vaccine Availability at the Fairgrounds
Skagit County Public Health will continue to provide vaccine appointment updates on Fridays at 12:00 p.m. on our website: www.skagitcounty.net/COVIDvaccine. New appointments may be added throughout the week depending on availability.
If you need assistance scheduling an appointment, call our Vaccine Hotline at (360) 416-1500. Both English and Spanish speaking call takers are available. The Hotline is operated Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Vaccination Tips and Reminders
Below is a helpful list of tips and reminders for the days leading up to your vaccination appointment—all of which come straight from the CDC and our vaccine clinic nurses. The full list can be found here: https://bit.ly/38n627Q.
- Wait at least 14 days before getting any other vaccine, including a flu or shingles vaccine, after you get your COVID-19 vaccine. If you get any other vaccine first, wait at least 14 days before getting your COVID-19 vaccine.
- For most people, it is not recommended to avoid, discontinue, or delay medications for underlying medical conditions around the time of COVID-19 vaccination. Talk with your healthcare provider if you have questions or concerns.
- It is not recommended you take over-the-counter medicine, such as ibuprofen, aspirin, or acetaminophen, before vaccination for the purpose of trying to prevent vaccine-related side effects. It is not known how these medications may affect how well the vaccine works.
- If you have tested positive for COVID-19 or been exposed to someone who has the illness, you should not go to the vaccination site to get your shot until your symptoms and isolation period have passed. If you have had COVID-19 in the past and have since recovered, it is recommended that you get the vaccine.
