COMMISSIONERS PROCLAIM APRIL 4-10 SKAGIT COUNTY CARES FOR KIDS WEEK
SKAGIT COUNTY The Skagit County Board of Commissioners proclaimed April 4-10 Skagit County Cares for Kids Week at their regular meeting, Friday, April 5. The Commissioners highlighted the Countys role in providing health services, public safety, educational development, recreational, educational, and services to at risk children in signing the proclamation.
Skagit County programs that provide services to children include Maternity Support Services, Welcome Baby, Infant Case Management, Alternative Response Services, Child Protective Services, At Risk Intervention Specialists, Foster Care Passport, Children with Special Health Care Needs, and Child Care Health and Safety Consultation.
In addition, Skagit County Parks and Recreation provides 197,350 active participation hours to youth and Best Self serves 1,200 students annually in addition to employing high school and college students.
Skagit County has a long history of caring and providing for children, said Commissioner Ted Anderson.
