Welcome to Skagit County
April 7, 2003
SKAGIT COUNTY The public is invited to an open house at the East County Community Resource Center Building, at 45770 Main Street in Concrete, on Friday, April 25, 2003 at 3:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served. The new 4,400 square foot facility will provide space for Skagit County Community Action, Skagit County Upriver Services, and the new Upper Skagit Library District, plus a separate meeting room which can be reserved for community functions. This new facility is an incredible asset to the East Skagit County community, said Skagit County Commissioner Ted Anderson. Anderson, and Commissioner Ken Dahlstedt will join U.S. Congressman Rick Larsen, and other local dignitaries at the function. The total cost of the project is $1,247,350, with $940,500 of that total funded by a State of Washington Community Trade and Economic Development Grant and a Community Development Block Grant. The Town of Concrete contributed $15,200, with the balance of $291,600 covered by Skagit County. The building was constructed by John Daniels Construction of Bellingham. This is a great collaborative effort by the entire community, Skagit County, and the State of Washington. This will be an invaluable community asset for generations to come, said Anderson.
