DEPARTMENT IS REVISING ITS FEE SCHEDULE

Skagit County Health Department is revising its fee schedule. The Public
Hearing for adopting the changes is scheduled for May 16, 2005 at 10:00 am in
the County Commissioners Hearing Room, 1800 Continental Place, Mount Vernon.
Environmental Health Permit changes include:
Categories are revised in the Food program to create more representative categories.
Charges are revised in the Solid Waste program to reflect State and local code changes in 2004.
Civil Penalties and fines are increased for solid waste violations.
A Construction Permit is added to Swimming Pools and Spas.
A dye-testing charge is added to the Liquid Waste program.
Mobile home park permits fees are reduced.
Public water system evaluations are increased.
Nursing, Laboratory, Vital Records changes include:
Fee increases are proposed to reflect the current costs of services to the Health Department and the amounts reimbursed to the Health Department through medical coupons.
The existing travel consultation fee has been discontinued and this expense absorbed through a $5.00 increase to each of the fees associated with travel vaccines.
Revisions to Laboratory and Vital Record fees reflect services currently offered in these areas and the associated cost to the Health Department.
This proposal may be approved, modified and approved, or rejected by the Board of Skagit County Commissioners. Your views for or against the adoption of these revisions to the Skagit County Health Department Schedule of Charges, as noted above, are invited by attendance, representation, or letter.
For citizens with special needs, the Commissioners Hearing Room is accessible. Persons with special needs or disabilities are asked to call the Commissioners Office at 336-9300 at least 96 hours before the hearing to discuss and arrange for any needed accommodations.
