Welcome to Skagit County
April 17, 2002 SKAGIT COUNTY OFFERS SPEAKERS BUREAU FOR CLUBS, ORGANIZATIONS AND SCHOOLS SKAGIT COUNTY - If your club, classroom or organization is looking for an interesting speaker, now there is a new resource at your fingertips. The Skagit County Speakers Bureau is posted at skagitcounty.net with contact information about available speakers and programs from various County departments. Topics include farmland protection, drug court, flood protection, census data, bio-terrorism and a significant list of health-related issues addressed by the Skagit County Health Department. "Our goal is build an easy-to-use system to allow the public to schedule speakers. The benefits are two-fold. The public learns interesting information about Skagit County government programs and services, and our staff members and elected officials get valuable feedback," said Skagit County Communications Director Dan Berentson. The list of topics to choose from will continue to grow, according to Berentson. "If there is a topic you think would be interesting and it's not on our list, give me call and I'll see if I can arrange it," he said. When using the Speakers Bureau on the Skagit County website, you can respond by e-mail, telephone, or the U.S. Post Office or by calling Berentson and have him take care of the details for you. He can be reached at (360)419-3461 or at (360)770-1881. For further information,
