SKAGIT COUNTY DISTRICT COURT SCHEDULES 10TH ANNUAL "MOCK TRIAL" FOR MAY 1

SKAGIT COUNTY – Judge David Svaren announced that Skagit County District Court will conduct the 10th annual “Mock Trial” in conjunction with Law Day on May 1, 2006. The “mock trial” will be held in Skagit County Superior Court Room #2 and begin at 9:00 a.m. Washington State Chief Justice Garry Alexander will be on hand to observe the trial and will be the key note speaker at the annual Law Day Luncheon scheduled at noon at McIntyre Hall in Mount Vernon.

The 5th-7th grade classes from Viewcrest Christian School will be participating in the “Mock Trial.” Judge Steve Skelton, Deblynne Whittlesey and Marcella Sheridan of Skagit County District Court, Toni Guzzo, Deputy Prosecuting Attorney and Corbin Volluz, a local attorney, are currently involved in working with the classes to help them prepare for trial.
