COMMISSIONER TED ANDERSON SCHEDULED TO MEET WITH AGRICULTURAL COMMUNITY ON GROWTH MANAGEMENT ACT RESOLUTION TEAM ISSUES

SKAGIT COUNTY – Skagit County Commissioner Ted Anderson will not be attending the monthly Skagit Council of Government and SKAT meetings scheduled for tomorrow at the Port of Skagit County due to a scheduling conflict. Skagit County Auditor Norma Brummett will represent Skagit County in his place.

As a member of the Growth Management Act Resolution Team, he will be meeting on Wednesday with members of Skagit County’s agricultural community to discuss issues of future negotiation.

Members of the Growth Management Act Resolution Team include Skagit County, Swinomish Tribal Community, and Washington Environmental Council. The group is working on resolutions to agricultural and fish issues in regard to the Critical Areas Ordinance.

“We have been working hard for several months to find solutions for Skagit County in regard to the Critical Areas Ordinance that are good for both fish and farmers,” said Anderson. “We’re making progress.”
