Skagit County Adopts Public Participation Program for 2025 Comprehensive Plan Update
The Board of Skagit County Commissioners is pleased to announce the adoption of a Public Participation Program (PPP) to enhance community involvement in the upcoming 2025 Comprehensive Plan Periodic Update.
The Comprehensive Plan serves as a vital roadmap for the future growth and development of Skagit County. By adopting the PPP, Skagit County aims to ensure that residents, businesses, and stakeholders have ample opportunities to provide input, share insights, and actively participate in shaping the future of our community.
Key features of the newly adopted Public Participation Program include:
- Multiple Engagement Channels: Utilizing a variety of opportunities such as public meetings, workshops, online surveys, and social media to reach a broad spectrum of the community.
- Transparent Communication: Providing regular updates and information about the Comprehensive Plan update process, timelines, and opportunities for participation.
- Inclusive Outreach: Targeting outreach efforts to engage diverse populations, ensuring all voices are heard and represented in the planning process.
- Iterative Feedback Process: Collecting, analyzing, and incorporating feedback from the community throughout the planning process to assess if engagement objectives are achieved.
- Collaborative Partnerships: Collaborating with local organizations, community groups, and stakeholders to maximize participation and promote shared ownership of the Comprehensive Plan.
