Welcome to Skagit County
May 1, 2002 STAFFORD TO STEP DOWN AS SKAGIT COUNTY UNDERSHERIFF Goodman appoints David Corrion as replacement and Will Reichardt as Chief of Field Services SKAGIT COUNTY - Skagit County Undersheriff David Stafford announced today that he is stepping down from his appointed position to that of Patrol Deputy. Stafford was appointed to his current position in 1995 by Sheriff Ed Goodman. Goodman appointed Chief of Field Services David Corrion to fill Stafford's position as Undersheriff effective May 1, 2002. He also appointed Sergeant Will Reichardt to be the new Chief of Field Services. "I came to the Sheriff's Office originally and specifically to work in Sheriff Goodman's administration. As he is considering not running for another term, I must look for what the employment future holds for me," said Stafford. Stafford has announced that he will not seek the office of Sheriff if Goodman decides not to run for re-election. "By making this decision now, when there is a deputy position opening, I won't be negatively affecting an employed deputy position," said Stafford. Stafford's career in law enforcement includes 10-years with the Burlington Police Department where he also served under Goodman, who was then the chief there. Stafford left law enforcement in 1986 to pursue interests in the private sector and later worked for Maricopa County in administration for seven years. He returned to law enforcement in 1995 to serve as Undersheriff.
