Welcome to Skagit County
May 3, 2021 Skagit County launches new tool for passport appointment schedulingToday, Skagit County launched a new tool that will allow people to schedule online for passport application appointments with the County Clerk’s office. You can find the link to schedule an appointment on the Skagit County Clerk’s website. “Due to the pandemic, many passport agencies stopped or significantly reduced their passport processing hours,” said Melissa Beaton, Skagit County Clerk. “Upon re-opening our lobby to the public in May, 2020, we saw a clear community need for more passport processing hours. With the demand increasing exponentially, appointments became essential, so we are excited to be able to offer this new scheduling tool for better access.” The Clerk’s office can accept up to four people in one party for a half hour appointment. A group of five or more requires an additional half hour. Individuals or groups visiting any Skagit County office must adhere to COVID-19 safety protocols including wearing a mask. You do not have to be a Skagit County resident to utilize this service. Appointments are available Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., and are currently booking about three weeks out. For more information on passport applications appointments, including what to bring to your appointment, visit https://www.skagitcounty.net/Departments/Clerk/passport.htm. If you have questions ahead of your appointment, call the Clerk’s office at 360-416-1800.
