SKAGIT COUNTY PROSECUTOR TO FILE ASSAULT CHARGES IN MIDDLE SCHOOL FIGHT INCIDENT

The Mount Vernon Police Department referred three juveniles to the office of the Skagit County Prosecutor for potential charges of assault in the second degree, relating to an incident Friday night at La Venture Middle School in Mount Vernon.

"We have reviewed the information presented and concluded that we will file charges against all three individuals for assault in the second degree. The individuals are all juveniles," said Skagit County Prosecutor Tom Seguine.

Two of those individuals are currently in custody. Bail will be set at $10,000 for the two individuals in custody.

Arraignments are scheduled for Tuesday, May 11, 2004 at 9:00 a.m.
