COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN UPDATE AND PUBLIC OUTREACH STEERING COMMITTEE SCHEDULES SPECIAL MEETING, MAY 18, 2005

SKAGIT COUNTY - The Skagit County Comprehensive Plan Update and Public Outreach Steering Committee will hold a special meeting on Wednesday, May 18, 2005, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., in the Skagit Room of the Skagit County Commissioners Administrative Building, 1800 Continental Place, Mount Vernon, Washington.

The 15-member Committee advises Skagit County as it fulfills the state-mandated seven-year update of its Growth Management Act (GMA) comprehensive plan and development regulations. The update process is to be completed by December, 2005. The Steering Committee will discuss Agriculture- and Mineral-Natural Resource Lands policies. No new Natural Resource Lands maps have been drafted. Maps will not be reviewed at this meeting.

The Steering Committee normally meets the first Wednesday of each month. The Committee elected to hold the additional May 18 meeting to allow extra time to review Comprehensive Plan policies.

This meeting is open to the public. A brief public comment period will be allowed, but may be limited at the discretion of the Committee.
