MARCH FOR MEALS FUNDRAISER TOPS $40,000 WITH DONATION FROM FIDALGO MASONIC LODGE

SKAGIT COUNTY – The Fidalgo Masonic Lodge #77 recently contributed $2,000 to Skagit County Senior Services Meals on Wheels program’s March of Meals fundraiser to bring the total amount of the annual fundraiser to more than $40,000.

Skagit County Commissioner Don Munks, who serves as Worshipful Master of Fidalgo Masonic Lodge presented Senior Services Director Tim Holloran with $2,000. The proceeds were raised from the organization’s Spring Turkey Shoot held in partnership with the Moose Trap Shoot Club.

“We’re glad to do our part to help eliminate hunger and solitude for our seniors,” said Munks.

Continued cuts in state funding of the Meals on Wheels program have mobilized staff and volunteers of Skagit County Senior Services to raise funds at the local level. “With the aid of these donations, we expect to serve 115,000 meals to more than 1,500 seniors this year,” said Holloran.
