Guemes Island Ferry Haul-out extended to 1:00 p.m. Saturday

SKAGIT COUNTY - The Guemes Island Ferry, out of service for routine maintenance since Monday May 5, 2008 is expected to return to service sometime Saturday May 17, 2008. “We are shooting for 1:00 p.m. but will have to see how well the new non-skid paint on the car deck cures, this is a $46,000 paint job and I want to be sure it is well cured”, said Guemes Island Ferry Manager Ron Panzero. Sea trials will be conducted Friday afternoon May 16, 2008. During the haul-out, passenger only service will be provided on the regular schedule and SKAT bus service will continue during the haul-out period.
