PUBLIC INVITED TO VISIT NEW PARK PROPERTY AT SARE’S BLUFF

County offers guided tours through 37-acre park on National Trails Day, June 5

SKAGIT COUNTY – The Skagit County Parks and Recreation Department is participating in National Trails Day, by offering the public an opportunity to experience the newly acquired 37-acre park property adjacent to Sharpe Park on Fidalgo Island. Guided tours are offered on Saturday, June 5, 2004, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

The property was acquired through a joint effort of Skagit County, the San Juan Preservation Trust, and the Inter-agency Committee for Outdoor Recreation. “This beautiful parcel, reaching from the Sharpe Park trailhead on Southwest Fidalgo Island down to the Puget Sound is a must see, and the hiking only trails are rustic, challenging, and a gorgeous family experience waiting for you,” said Skagit County Parks and Recreation Director Bob Vaux. “Everyone is welcome.”

Vaux and Park Ranger Lou Peterson will lead the guided tours. For further information, please check www.skagitparksfoundation.org for directions or call Vaux at 336-9328.
