Public Meeting to Seek
Information Regarding Drainage Concerns in the South Fidalgo Island Area
SKAGIT COUNTY - Skagit County Public Works, with assistance from the consulting
firm Tetra Tech, will be holding evening Public Meetings on June 11 & June
18 to seek information from the community regarding drainage concerns in the
South Fidalgo Island area. Drainage concerns documented at these meetings will
be used to assist in the development of a Stormwater Management Plan for South
Fidalgo Island.
The primary goal behind the development of the Stormwater Management Plan is to effectively manage stormwater, not only to correct existing drainage deficiencies, but to plan for future stormwater system infrastructure that is consistent with the anticipated growth, and that will provide adequate drainage passage, reduce flood hazards, and maintain slope stability.
The meeting on June 11 will focus on concerns in western Fidalgo Island and will be held at the Rosario Beach Marine Laboratory, (15510 Rosario Beach Road, Anacortes, WA 98221) from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The meeting on June 18 will focus on concerns in eastern Fidalgo Island and will be held at Fidalgo Elementary School, (13590 Gibralter Road, Anacortes, WA 98221) from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Although the two meetings focus on different areas of South Fidalgo Island, community members are encouraged to attend the meeting that best fits their schedule. For those who are unable to attend either meeting, please feel free to contact or send written comments to the project lead Michael See.
